    The seat of Leicestershire County Council and the centre of operations of the county authority, some 3 miles (4.8 km) north-west of central Leicester and a little over 4 miles (6.4 km) from Leicester railway station is County Hall in Glenfield. There are seven district councils, Blaby, Charnwood, Harborough, Hinckley and Bosworth, Melton, North West Leicestershire and Oadby and Wigston below the County Council.
